Friday’s National Conference was a great success. If you missed it, ask your colleagues about it and were sure you’ll be interested to save the date for the Autumn Conference on morning of 11 October 2017 (Croke Park).
This inaugural National Conference focused on examining the future of the industry and the profession. Total attendance peaked at 230 for the all-day conference in Carton House. We were pleased to hear so many attendees calling Daniel Susskind, author of the Future of the Professions, a tour-de-force that tackled the issues impacting professionals everywhere.
Attendees will be receiving their pack of slides from the speakers later this week – which included Anne Heraty, CEO & Founder of CPL Resources; John Moran, former Secretary General of the Department of Finance; Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland; Robert Hoban, BIDX1; Paul Hogan, Department of Housing; Colm Lauder, Goodbody Stockbrokers; Donall O’Shea, AIB; John Gilmartin, Klyant; Paddy Ryan, Mace Group; Jim Moore, spaceXchange; Marian Finnegan, Cushman & Wakefield; Ralph Montague, ArcDox; Michael Durnin, Murphy Surveys… the list continues out to over 30 speakers.
The conference attendees even witnessed the Society’s first ever drone selfie, displayed below, taken for the SCSI by Murphy Surveys.
When the conference finished, we were delighted so many attendees stayed on for the reception and social dinner, where guests were entertained by popular band Manila Strings over a Carton House five-course meal.
