Jacquie Brett, Chair of the SCSI Facilities Management sub-committee talks of big changes for this years Facilities Management Ireland event – RDS, Ballsbridge, 7th & 8th March 2017.
This year, the FM sub-committee at the Society have put their heads together to bring about exciting changes to FM Ireland 2017. For this years conference, we have teamed up with BIFM to offer attendees two full days of interesting topics relating to core FM activities while at the same time exploring how FM is changing and can change through the strategic agenda.
We have also invited some Lead FMs to come and share their story. We hope that delegates will find our programme motivating and one that provides helpful ideas and solutions.
One of the biggest enhancements to this years event is the relocation of the speakers hall to the main hall, unlike previous years where presentations took place on the second floor in conference rooms. With conference and exhibition elements side-by-side, this will provide easy access and a better experience for delegates.
Through collaboration with BIFM, we have created a strong and interesting conference programme that we anticipate will be of great value to all those in attendance. Presentations include:
TUESDAY, 7th March:
- Mobility in the Workplace
- My FM Story with Lead FMs from Tallaght Hospital, Dublin Airport and LinkedIn
- Hard FM Topics including Leaks and Condensation & Lighting, Savings and Innovation
WEDNESDAY, 8th March:
Strategic FM is the focus of the day including:
- Leases from the FM Perspective
- What’s Happening in FM including “The Stobbart Review” and of course the “RICS and IFMA Collaboration – what it means for FM”
- We have an Interesting Case Study on the “One Team Approach For FM Excellence”

We have also been working with SCSI staff to help support our Facilities Managers on the day. There will be a help desk on uploading your CPD activity, lots of information on our educational activities, guidance notes and networking opportunities. We will also have Chartered Facilities Managers on hand to provide guidance or career support.
We would like to hear from you on what you would be interested to see at FM Ireland 2018, the upcoming SCSI PM & FM Conference in May this year and just generally how the SCSI can support you. This is your Society and your input is very important to us.
Looking forward to meeting you all at FM Ireland on March 7th & 8th.
