The 2016 annual Survey Ireland Conference entitled ‘Expanding Horizons’ was, for the first time, hosted by the Society of  Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) Geomatics Professional Group on Thursday 19th of May in the Red Cow Inn in Dublin to great success.

Over 70 delegates ranging from the private and public sector industry, to academia attended the one day conference.  Over the past number of years this event has brought together many industry leaders in the field of surveying and geomatics and this years’ conference reflected an invigorated geomatics profession in Ireland now wholly represented by the SCSI.  The conference programme was designed to offer insight from geospatial information providers and stakeholders under a range of themes reflecting the breadth of modern geomatics activity. Thirteen diverse speakers from Ireland and the UK shared their knowledge over the course of the day.

In addition, the event was supported by many service providers to the sector who showcased their latest technology, equipment and services.

The Geomatics Professional Group in SCSI would like to thank OSi for their generous sponsorship and acknowledge also the support from the exhibitors on the day: OSi, Atlas, DIT, Korec, LES Ltd., Murphy Surveys, SIS and Topcon.
