Southern Region Annual Dinner

The Southern Region Annual Dinner took place last Friday, November 21st at the Maryborough Hotel in Douglas, Co. Cork.  The region held a CPD on the afternoon of the event.  Speakers included Brian O Driscoll, SCSI Director of Regulation who updated members in relation to CPD requirements and the mortgage credit directive; John Granville of presented data on movements in the property market in the region and Dr Seamus Coffey of UCC, gave an interesting presentation on economic indicators and what they meant in the context of our domestic economy.

The dinner was very well attended, with over 250 members present on the evening. The turnout was much larger than last year, making it one of the largest events to date.  Chairman Mick McKenna welcomed the guests, thanking them for their involvement and collaboration with the Society and invited them to become more active with the Society in the year ahead.  He introduced Pauline Daly, President of the SCSI who made the opening address, while Michael Burns introduced the guest speaker – Irish sports pundit and renowned former Gaelic football player, Pat Spillane.
