Now that Wimbledon has come and gone attention can now focus on the Society’s ever popular tennis tournament sponsored by The Irish Times. This is the final event in the “summer of sport” which started with the tag rugby and continues with the five aside soccer tournament on 15th August.
To mark the milestone of 25 years of the tournament we have decided to “mix it up” a little this year and introduce a new format of all mixed doubles. A team will still consist of four players – two men and two ladies – but they will play as two mixed doubles combinations.
There will also be a competition on the day to judge the fastest serve so get practising.
In addition to prizes for the winners and runners up, there will be random prizes drawn on the night so even if you are not in the running you can still win a prize.
Our goal is to see more new faces this year so let’s find out if there is some hidden talent in your firm in the form of a Novak Djokovic or Elena Kvitova.
Come along for a fun evening with some competitive tennis thrown in for good measure rounded off by a barbecue.
