Last Saturday, 14th October, the Society hosted the Young Surveyors Ball in the Round Room at the Mansion House. A highlight in the social calendar for all young surveyors.
With over 250 of our younger members in attendance, the night was well represented by professionals working across the property, land and construction sectors.
Showcasing the impact of surveying 2018 marks the 150th anniversary of RICS.
To celebrate this milestone, RICS have launched their Pride in the Profession campaign to showcase the significant and positive impact surveyors have made to society and to demonstrate how varied and rewarding a surveying career can be.
The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland arranged a Fun Run in Herbert Park on Thursday 14th September last in Aid of Focus Ireland. The event was proudly sponsored by McGovern Surveyors as well as Gleeson, McGrath, Baldwin Solicitors and helped raise funds for a very worthy cause.
There were 18 teams participants and 21 participants ran either 3km or 5 km. All entrants received a goodie bag, branded t-shirt, sponsors were McGovern Surveyors.

Last Friday evening, the annual SCSI Young Surveyors 5-Aside Soccer Tournament took place at Pembroke Wanderer’s Hockey Club in Ballsbridge. A total of nineteen teams from across the property and construction sectors took park in the event.
The Members Summer Networking Social took place last Thursday, 20th July, at the Society HQ in 38 Merrion Square. Over 70 members turned up for the event. The BBQ was accompanied by beer and wine which was served to members on the evening.
When the management company arranged to have a contractor investigate the chimney in 2014, they found out that the problem is structural. The flue is set about 4-6 inches further back than where it needs to be.

The annual SCSI 5-a-side Tag Rugby Tournament took place on Thursday, 29th of June Old Wesley RFC, Donnybrook. Savills, for the fourth year in a row fought off fierce competition from fourteen teams, to secure their title as overall winners of the annual 2017 Tag Rugby Tournament.
